about

This is the first recording of the new project "Ergot Skomorokh", which eclectically blend different directions and genres of electronic and folk music, combining them with the theme of ancient history, psychedelia, folk religion, superstitions, traditions, legends and mysteries. Ethnography of little-studied places in Russia, love for nature and interest in entheogens led the authors to Vyatka, modern Kirov region. Once owned by the Finno-Ugric peoples by the Komi, Udmurts and Mari, who practiced natural paganism and mushroom rites, Vyatka in the Middle Ages was inhabited by immigrants of the Eastern Slavs who brought a new faith and mixed with the natives. This bizarre mixture of Russians and Chud in the country of rivers, forests and lakes, gave rise to an amazing original history and folklore
